The Big Deed

Sunday, April 13 through Saturday, April 19. Look for collection bins at all library branches.

We invite you to do something big during the Big Read — that's what the Big Deed is all about.

This year, in honor of "The Call of the Wild" four-legged star, Buck, the Library is sponsoring a food and supplies drive for C.A.R.E., a nonprofit animal rescue organization in Springfield. C.A.R.E., or Castaway Animal Rescue Effort, is a no-kill shelter that provides medical treatment, spay/neuter and adoption programs. C.A.R.E. also networks with, and provides rescue service for, other shelters.

From April 13-19, you're invited to join the Big Deed and donate items on C.A.R.E.'s wish list to help extend their resources: premium dry food, collars (any size), premium canned kitten food, hard chew bones, bleach, laundry soap, 39-gallon trash bags, paper towels and hand sanitizer. Or visit carerescue.org.

For more information call 616-0564.
