Kudos to Library Essay Contest Winners

Congratulations to the winners of the Library Essay Contest conducted as part of National Library Week in April. Look for the winners featured on READ posters at the Library.

Here’s what they said in their essays about why the Library is important to them:

Sue Smith: “…With each passing day, librarians everywhere are thinking of new and exciting ways to show readers and learners of all ages that the sky’s the limit – there’s nothing we can’t find to think about or learn to do, once we enter the library doors, whether real or virtual.” Read Sue's entire essay.

Bob Nelson: “…I love browsing the COOLcat.org site for the latest book and CD titles. …I’m able to log in with my library card number and reserve the items I want in my account…” Read Bob's entire essay.

Judy Stirewalt: “…I am blind and was ecstatic to find that my library had a program called Walking Books. ... Every three weeks I prepare a request for books I wouldlike to listen to and a volunteer or library personnel brings me bags of books.” Read Judy's entire essay.
