Teen Read Week

Happy Teen Read Week everyone!  We're celebrating all week long with special events at The Library!

First off is Book Spine Poetry, which will be happening all week. Grab some books, make a poem and then ask your teen librarian to snap a photo.  We'll post your Book Spine poems in a photo gallery for everyone to see.  Check out the schedule to see when Book Spine Poetry is happening at your branch: http://thelibrary.org/bookspine/

Friday night is the Teen Read Week Read-A-Thon at The Library Center. Starting at 6pm we'll be hanging out in Meeting Rooms A&B with snacks and books. Come find a new read or bring an old favorite and we'll spend the evening reading. The goal is to read as much as you can between 6-9pm.  There will be prizes given away every hour!

Saturday evening at 7pm is the Breaking Ink Coffee House. Come read your entry into the Breaking Ink contest or bring a poem to read and listen to the entries. The winners of the contest will be announced and we'll have coffee and snacks!

And don't forget about the Teen's Top Ten! This list was voted on by teens all over the country and here are the top ten teen books of 2009 according to you! Haven't read them yet? You can check them out at The Library!
