Waiting for "Superman"

Recently, a documentary movie about education reform has garnered tremendous attention from the likes of Oprah Winfrey to Time Magazine to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The film entitled Waiting for “Superman” explores the current state of public education in the United States and how it is affecting its youngest citizens. The film follows the lives of five unforgettable kids whose dreams, hopes and untapped potential reveal all that is at stake at this critical moment in education history.

The film is a project of the Waiting for “Superman” social action campaign. The campaign seeks to build public awareness, ignite personal involvement and inspire real social change based on four core initiatives:

The website includes a Take Action Checklist that encourages all members of the community to take steps to ensure that every child gets a great education. In addition there is a Superhero Toolkit that provides the tools that one needs to take action locally.
