The library updates it and publishes it every two years.<br /> <br /> The 2011-2012 edition of The Directory was just published, and it&rsquo;s for sale at all the library branches and Between Friends gift shops at the Library Center and Library Station for $10 apiece. <br /> <br /> The spiral-bound book, now at a whopping 100 pages, includes mailing addresses, phone, fax, toll-free, hotline and TTY numbers, e-mail and Web addresses for the 800-plus listings.<br /> <br /> Individuals and agencies often keep a desk copy for quick referral. The Springfield-Greene County Library District makes it easy for you by publishing The Directory, an alphabetical listing with contact numbers of those more than 800 area nonprofit clubs, agencies and organizations. The library updates it and publishes it every two years.

The 2011-2012 edition of The Directory was just published, and it’s for sale at all the library branches and Between Friends gift shops at the Library Center and Library Station for $10 apiece.

The spiral-bound book, now at a whopping 100 pages, includes mailing addresses, phone, fax, toll-free, hotline and TTY numbers, e-mail and Web addresses for the 800-plus listings.

The library is happy again this year to partner with Missouri State University and others to sponsor a celebration of African-American poetry as part of the 22nd National African American Read-In Chain. It’s at 7:30 p.m. Monday (FEB. 28) at the Northview Center in Doling Park. The event is free and open to the public.

It will feature local poets, musicians and performers.

The celebration event is part of the national Read-In Chain, which coincides with Black History Month and is sponsored by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English.
