Classic Silent Film Program Honors Doughboys
Join us on November 5 for the final film in the Library's popular series Great Silents on the Silver Screen. Filmed in 1925, "The Big Parade" is a classic of the silent era. The story recounts the experiences of an American soldier in France during World War I.
Considered the first realistic war drama and one of the most important films ever made, "The Big Parade" has spectacle, romance and comedy. The beautiful and haunting score is by Carl Davis, played by The English Chamber Orchestra.
The film will be shown in the Library Center auditorium on Saturday, November 5 at 2:30 pm. Admission is free and popcorn is provided.
