BusinessDecision is a consumer market and demographics resource available electronically through the Library. This resource provides information about local markets that can be used for competitive analysis, business plans, marketing plans and sales plans.
Two new reports are now available through BusinessDecision that integrate Census 2010 data. The Census 2010 Summary Profile report includes Census 2010 data compared to Census 2000 data. This report provides key Census 2010 data for a specified area. Up to three study areas can be compared in one report. The following data is included: race, sex, age, households by type, place of birth, marital status, school enrollment, educational attainment, employment status, occupancy, and industry, means of transportation to work, travel time to work, poverty status, income, housing units by value, mortgage, rent, occupancy, and year householder moved in, among others. Note that, in the 2010 Census, the definitions of some geographies have changed.
The other new report is the Demographic and Income Profile (2011 Data) which includes updated Esri data for 2011 (current year estimate) and 2016 (five year projection), as well as Census 2010. This report reveals trends in population, households, families, age, income, and race/ethnicity for a specified area, using the latest 2011 Census update. This report summarizes current-year estimate of population, five-year forecast, and Census 2010 data. Up to three study area can be compared in one report. It includes demographic variables illustrated with bar and pie charts to help you quickly quantify, analyze, and forecast market growth and change over time.
Both reports are available for preset and customized study areas.
BusinessDecision will continue to add the new reports as they are updated with Esri's 2011/2016 data.
