Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale Returns April 24-29

People of all ages will find books, music, movies, audiobooks and much more at bargain prices during the Friends of the Library giant Spring Book Sale April 24-29, at Remington’s, 1655 W. Republic Road.

Hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, April 24-27; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, April 28; and 1-5 p.m. Sunday, April 29.

The popular Friends Night Preview Sale is 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 23. That’s when Friends members get to preview and purchase the sale items before it’s open to the public. Members should make sure their dues are paid in advance. Individuals may pay $5 to enter on Preview Night and may join the Friends anytime that night.

Half-price day is Saturday, April 28; and the final day of the sale, Sunday, April 29, is $1 and $5 Bag Day, when shoppers can stuff everything in a bag for that price. But book, movie and music lovers won’t want to wait until that weekend to get in on the great selection and bargains for first-rate items.

The Friends’ annual Spring Book Sale and Fall Book Sale in October are Springfield’s largest book sales. But there’s so much more packed in the four tractor-trailer loads that fill Remington’s.

The sales feature popular and classic music CDs, cassettes and record albums;  rare and collectible books, movie DVDs and VHS tapes, sheet music, puzzles and board games in addition to children’s, teen and adult best reads, textbooks, cookbooks and craft books, best-sellers, sci-fi and fantasy and religion and Christian fiction.

Children’s books are priced 50 cents or less. Adult and young adult books and most audiovisual are $1 or less; and better books are $2 and up.

Proceeds from the sale benefit the 10 branches and the Mobile Library of the Springfield-Greene County Library District.

For more information call Pat at 417-865-6080, or Sandy at 417-767-2579.
