Autism Resources

The Centers for Disease Control currently estimates that 1 out of 88 children in the United States have some sort of Autism Spectrum Disorder.  There is currently a large amount of research being conducted on autism, but much is still unknown.  Autism presents many special issues for parents and caregivers, and it can often be difficult to find good information on the condition.  We have compiled some helpful resources for those interested in learning more about autism.

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke provides a summary of symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and research related to autism.  They also provide a variety of links to other sources of information.

Life Skills and Touchpoint Autism Services is a statewide organization focused on autism services in Missouri.  Their website gives information on their community based training, support and clinical services, as well as basic autism information and events across the state.

The Missouri Autism Report is a monthly publication discussing autism-related issues in Missouri.  Online versions of the publication can be found on their website, and print subscriptions can be ordered as well.

The Autism Society is a national organization focused on autism awareness and activism.  Their website contains a wide variety of autism information, as well as news about the latest autism research.  They also sponsor the Autism Source Directory which is a searchable database of autism programs and services across the country.
