Community Focus 2013
The Community Focus 2013 report is a cooperative effort between the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Springfield-Greene County Library District, Junior League of Springfield, United Way of the Ozarks, and the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. These organizations' leaders pledge to use the information in the report to guide future decision making.
The report provides an objective assessment of Springfield and Greene County, and assigns “red flags” and “blue ribbons” to various indicators of the community’s health and vitality. Areas covered include public order and safety, citizen participation, natural environment, and arts and culture, to name a few.
This year's Community Focus report notes that the following topics have emerged as red flag themes:
- Poverty
- Insufficient Funding
- Concerns for Children and Youth
- Lack of Investment in Prevention Efforts
