Nearly four tractor-trailers are ready to be unloaded for the huge Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale on Tuesday, Oct. 22 through Sunday, Oct. 27, at Remington’s, 1655 W. Republic Road.

Hours are 10 a.m-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, through Friday, Oct. 25; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, which is Half-Price Day; and 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, Bag Day. Everything you can squeeze in a bag costs only $1, or $5 from the better books side.

Be the first to shop from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, during the Friends Night Preview Sale if you’re a member of the Friends of the Library or pay $5 at the door.

The sale includes an especially large selection of children’s books, plus books in all genres for all other ages; classic and popular CDs and DVDs; videocassettes; audiobooks; vinyl records; puzzles and board games.

All the items were either donated by individuals or weeded from the library district through the year and priced low by Friends volunteers. Children’s books are 50 cents or less; adult, young adult books and most audiovisual are $1 or less; better books are $2 and up. Only cash or checks are accepted.

Proceeds from the Friends spring and fall sales help pay for library programs, concerts, equipment, the Mobile Library and other services that directly serve library users.
