Did you know the Convoy of Hope has a new program for job seekers? Made to Work is a free Convoy of Hope program that provides networking opportunities for job seekers.
Made to Work events are held once a month and provide opportunities for job seekers to interact with potential employers, learn about community resources, and hear about relevant job search information from knowledgeable speakers.
The Library also has many resources available for job seekers. Information about some of these resources is listed below:
- The EDGE: Located in the basement of the Midtown-Carnegie Branch, The EDGE provides computer classes and tutorials. The EDGE also provides career and personal development skills tutorials.
- Reference USA Business*: Search for jobs, location and industry information, find new business opportunities, research executives and companies worldwide, and locate out-of-town companies.
- LearningExpress Library*: This is an online resource for academic and employment test preparation. Includes the HiSET, ACT, SAT, Postal Worker and Civil Service tests. The site also offers materials and courses to improve life, workplace and computer skills. This site has recently been redesigned. Existing users will need to create a new account.
- Job & Career Accelerator*: Get detailed information on occupations that suit your interests. You can also access current job listings from over 5 million job postings collected from major job boards. Create professional resumes and cover letters, master interviewing and networking techniques, and more. This site has recently been redesigned. Existing users will need to create a new account.
