Bring the Whole Family to See Bruce Cameron April 10 at the Library Center

 You may know him from the book that sparked the popular TV series, "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter."

Or, as a dog lover, you may know his funny and heartwarming books, "A Dog's Purpose" and "A Dog's Journey."

Author Bruce Cameron will tickle your funny bone when he comes to the Library Center auditorium at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 10. Make plans to bring the whole family.

Every age will enjoy Cameron's best-selling humor in this Big Read special author event. His Springfield visit is one of several author events and programs planned during the Library District’s Big Read throughout April. This one book, one community project this year focuses on Jack London’s classic dog tale, “The Call of the Wild.”

Cameron’s book, “A Dog’s Purpose,” is being adapted for a major motion picture. That book and the sequel, “A Dog’s Journey,” were New York Times best-sellers. He also wrote “Emory’s Gift,” and his latest novel is “The Dogs of Christmas.”

Cameron’s popular “8 Simple Rules” became an ABC TV show, and led to two sequels, “How to Remodel a Man,” another national best-seller, and “8 Simple Rules for Marrying my Daughter.”

Cameron has twice received the National Society of Newspaper Columnist's Award for Best Humor Columnist. This Big Read event is funded by The Library Foundation.
