2014 Fall Book Preview

Tis the season in the book world for industry editors to pick the stars of the busy upcoming fall and holiday season. Hundreds of book titles have been read, categorized and selected to top lists.

Check out Amazon’s The Big Fall Books Preview. Their editors have chosen Ken Follett’s Edge of Eternity, the final installment of the Century trilogy, George RR Martin’s The World of Ice & Fire: The Untold History of Westeros and the Game of Thrones as well as Amy Poehler’s highly anticipated first book, Yes Please just to name a few of the great titles that made their list.

Publisher’s Weekly, known as “the bible of the book business,” publishes several lists in their fall announcements issue. One of my favorite categories are cookbooks. Some titles that stood out are Dinner: The Playbook, the author and her husband plan thirty days’ worth of entirely new dishes for their kids to try, Thug Kitchen, from the popular blog of the same name, and Mastering My Mistakes in the Kitchen: Learning to Cook with 65 Great Chefs and Over 100 Delicious Recipes.

Over at Huffington Post, they also have a best of fall list with twenty-seven titles that made their cut.

And if you’re still looking for great reads, don’t forget to check out librarian created booklists here.
