Short on Time? Ten Books to Try on Audio
Sometimes our busy schedules do not always acquiesce to our bulging reading lists. Great books are everywhere! A friend recommends a new book with contagious enthusiasm, the library announces upcoming book discussions or the best seller’s lists grab our attention. If it feels like you can’t seem to find the time to dig into the books on your list, consider audiobooks as the antidote. Audiobooks can be enjoyed while you commute, exercise, cook or craft. Additionally, a talented narrator (or a cast of narrators, in some cases) enhances the story through dramatic interpretation.
Audiobooks are available through the library in four different formats. Audiobook CDs can be listened to in any CD player. Playaways are small, handheld devices preloaded with a single book that only require headphones and a single AAA battery to operate. Or, go digital! Audiobooks are available to library users digitally through Overdrive and Hoopla, which allow you to stream or download audiobooks onto your computer, tablet or smartphone.
