If you like to read the book before you see the movie, you might want to check out some of these titles before their film adaptations are released in 2015. 

 

 Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. Movie release date: February 13. Starring: Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson.

 Insurgent by Veronica Roth. Movie release date: March 20. Starring: Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet.

In this sequel to the bestselling “Divergent,” war surges in the dystopian society around 16-year-old Tris Prior, who must continue trying to save those she loves while grappling with questions of identity, loyalty, politics and love.

 

 The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks. Movie release date: April 10. Starring: Scott Eastwood, Britt Robertson, Alan Alda.

 Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith. Movie release date: April 17. Starring: Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, Gary Oldman. 
 

In Stalin's Soviet Union, MGB officer Leo Demidov lives in relative luxury in Moscow. His only ambition is to serve his country. Then the impossible happens: Leo is arrested and interrogated while a murderer is on the loose. 

 

 Paper Towns by John Green. Movie release date: June 5. Starring: Cara Delevingne, Nat Wolff.

In this novel from the author of “The Fault in Our Stars,” Quentin "Q" Jacobsen basks in the predictable boringness of his life until the beautiful and exciting Margo Roth Spiegelman, Q's neighbor and classmate, takes him on a midnight adventure and then mysteriously disappears.

 

 Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. Movie release date: August 21. Starring: Emilia Clarke, Sam Claflin.

Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life. She takes a badly needed job working for  Will Traynor, who is wheelchair-bound after a motorcycle accident.  The Scorch Trials by James Dashner. Movie release date: September 18. Starring: Dylan O’Brien, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Patricia Clarkson. 

This sequel to “The Maze Runner” features Thomas, who is trapped with 19 others in a scientific experiment designed to gather data believed to be essential for the survival of the human race.

 

 Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. Movie release date: Part 2, November 20 (Part 1 released November 21, 2014). Starring: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson.

 The Martian by Andy Weir. Movie release date: November 25. Starring: Matt Damon, Kristen Wiig, Jessica Chastain, Chiwetel Ejiofor.

 In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex by Nathaniel Philbrick. Movie release date: December 11. Starring: Chris Hemsworth, Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson.

In 1819, the Essex set sail from Nantucket on a routine voyage for whales. Fifteen months later, the unthinkable happened: in the farthest reaches of the South Pacific, the Essex was rammed and sunk by an enraged sperm whale. The next three months tested just how far humans could go in their battle against the sea.
