Come Visit the Temporary Brentwood Branch -- Open May 3!
Brentwood Branch fans still have a place to go nearby for library services while the branch is closed for renovation for six to nine months.
The temporary site opens for business at 10:30 a.m Tuesday, May 3, in the Brentwood Center, 2720 S. Glenstone Ave., across the road from Battlefield Mall. (Hint: The library is between Mr. Blackwell’s and Gracie’s. You’ll see our LIBRARY temporary sign above the door.) Some patrons have already gotten a glimpse of the temporary site -- it opened April 19 just for pick up of reserved items.
Hours are 10:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. We're using the same Brentwood phone number -- 883-1974. You'll see some of your favorite Brentwood librarians and some new ones including temporary site Manager Melissa Davis.
Staff have worked hard to move in a small collection of books for all ages, magazines, newspapers, CDs and DVDs so you can enjoy limited services near your neighborhood library.
You can browse the collection, pick up holds, drop off materials, manage your library account, pay fines, use library laptops and print from them, and study or read on our small collection of chairs and tables.
No outside book drop is planned at the temporary site, but you may drop returns after hours at any other library branch; at the Price Cutter Plus Book Stop, 3260 E. Battlefield Road; and the large drop box on the Mercy Hospital campus near the corner of South National Avenue and Cherokee Street.
