Take a Photo Tour of Arkansas Nightscapes with Tim Ernst June 17 and Go Adventuring with Ed Fillmer June 20

Two Ozarks adventurers headline upcoming events at the library – Arkansas photographer Tim Ernst and Springfield-based videographer Ed Fillmer. No reservations are required and all ages are welcome.

Tim Ernst will present his slide show, Arkansas Nightscapes, at 7 p.m. Friday, June 17, in the Library Center auditorium. Some of us have caught this show at other venues in the past, and Tim says this will be the last public showing of this incredible (our words, not his!) night tour of the Natural State.

If you think Arkansas is beautiful in the day, wait ‘til you see it at night. Follow him as he roams bluff tops, swamps, waterfalls and deep forest areas in the dark to find the most beautiful and unusual scenes that most of us never get to see – or don’t dare try.

Tim has been hiking, driving and photographing the Ozark Mountains for most of his life. His work has appeared in hundreds of publications including National Geographic, Audubon, Backpacker, Outside and Outdoor Photographer.

He will sell and sign his photographs and books before and after the show.

Then from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 20, in the Library Center auditorium, go Into the Wild with award-winning journalist Ed Fillmer. His video series at the library have shown us ghost towns and mills. This time he’s into thrills, showing us his favorite adventures and wild rides in video stories from “KY3’s Ozark Life” and “F-stops.”

Go with him to Grand Gulf, Hemmed-In Hollow and Devil’s Den. Take an upside-down ride in a biplane, race across the Outback of Australia in a solar-powered car, ride in the dining car of a steam locomotive powered train, see the famous White River Line Railroad from the air, float in a hot air balloon above Greene County and see Ed Fillmer fly with the Air Force Thunderbirds.

Ed is Journalist in Residence for the History Museum of the Ozarks in cooperation with KYTV, and we are again seeing new stories by Ed on KY3.
