Join Yoga for Everyone at Library Station; Check Out the New Kids Page and Keep Up on Brentwood Construction Online

The steamy Ozarks weather may wilt your outdoor exercise plans, but it’s just the right temperature inside the Library Station for a fitness series, Yoga for Everyone.

The series begins at 6:30 p.m. today, June 30, in the Station’s Frisco Room. Library staff member and certified yoga instructor Kim Duquette will guide you in seated and standing poses, breath work and meditation suitable for all levels. No need to bring a mat. Street clothes are fine attire, but you will be invited to remove shoes, ties and belts.

The next classes will be at the same time and place on July 28 and Aug. 25. Reservations are not required, and you don’t have to attend all three sessions to participate.

We’ve got something new online for children and grown-ups. The new, improved Kids page just went live at thelibrary.org/kids.

“The new pages are brighter, easier to access and showcase book lists, programs and digital resources. The main page also features our new Parent Blog,” says Nancee Dahms-Stinson, youth services coordinator.

The Library’s Web development team later will add Homework Help and Educators pages, and a caregiver resource guide to help address tough topics with kids, so be sure to check back often.

Visit the page now for book lists by age group and reading level; upcoming library programs; links to all the Library’s digital sites for free e-books, movies, audiobooks, music, comics, TV shows, magazines, and the Tumble Book Library. Need activities to do with little ones? We’ve got suggestions on the Racing to Read Early Literacy page, so play on!

Have you looked in on the progress on the Brentwood Branch Library lately? You can, by following the Renew Brentwood blog on the Library’s home page, thelibrary.org, or at yourlibraryfoundation.org.

We’re following the project by posting photos and stories. You can also see a slide show at the temporary branch in the Brentwood Center, across from Battlefield Mall. Those hours are 10:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
