Spaces Meeting Room Reservation System Launches Feb. 1

Looking for a place to host your next meeting or staff training? Many people use the library branches’ conference and community rooms at no charge, and beginning Feb. 1 it will be easier to reserve a space.

On that day, you will be able to book a meeting room online through a system called Spaces, on the library website. Libraries across the country using online reservations find it simplifies and speeds the reservation system for the public. You will be able to see – the moment you place a booking – whether the room is available, which will reduce the delay you may have encountered in getting a confirmation.

Beginning Feb.1, visit thelibrary.org/spaces to book your reservation on Spaces. No access to email? You may still call a library branch to reserve a study or meeting room.

Library staff will oversee the bookings online during library hours. When a patron enters a booking online, a staff member will see it, verify that it complies with the library’s approved meeting room uses, and send an email confirmation in a timely way. Staff will follow up with an email if there are questions. (You can see meeting room availability and policies at thelibrary.org/meetingrooms.)

Here are some guidelines for using the new system.

Our goal is enhanced convenience. The library staff will still oversee the new reservation system and we’re still available to work with you to meet your specific needs. If you have concerns or questions about the new process, please contact Katie Hopkins at 417-616-0554 or katieh@thelibrary.org.
