We Need Your Help!

The proposed federal budget will zero out funding for The Institute of Museum & Library Service (IMLS) and its grant program, The Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA). Public libraries across the nation depend on IMLS and the LSTA grants to supplement and strengthen the public’s investment by providing additional financial support for programs, library materials and technology.

The following list identifies just some of the resources that have been funded by these grants for the patrons of the Springfield-Greene County Library District:

  • Computers for public use
  • Small business resources
  • Computer classes for job skills training
  • Early Literacy Specialist
  • Summer reading outreach for children and teens
  • Nonfiction materials for improving life skills
  • Video lab for businesses, nonprofits, students
