Giant Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale is April 26-30

The Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale returns April 26-30 to the E*Plex on the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, 3001 N. Grant Ave. Parking and admission is free. Cash or checks accepted.

Hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 26-Saturday; and 1-5 p.m. Sunday, April 30. Saturday is Half-Price Day and Sunday is the ever-popular Bag Day, when everything you can stuff in a sack is $1, or $5 from the better books side.

Friends Night Preview Sale is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 25. That night only, bring your Friends membership card to get in free, or pay $5 at the door, shop all you want and you have the option of joining the Friends that night. Membership entitles you to get into the Fall Book Sale Friends Night Preview Sale in October for free, and provides discounts at the Between Friends Gift Shops in several library branches.

This is a great opportunity to stock your home library for yourself or your children or home day care. Teachers and student teachers love the sale -- they refresh their classroom libraries with little cash. Indulge in your sci-fi or romance novel fandom for pennies on the dollar. Find like-new books for gifts. Pick up on bargain-priced CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, games and puzzles.

Enjoy bargain-basement prices: Adult, young adult and children’s books and most audiovisuals are $1 or less; better books are $2 and up.

Proceeds from the spring and fall Friends of the Library book sales help pay for programs and entertainment at the library branches, help fund major author events and pay for many updates and improvements at the 10 library branches of the Springfield-Greene County Library District.
