Jurassic Park...Not just Fiction
Jack Horner is developing a way to create a dinosaur. Yes, a real live dinosaur. His newest book, How to Build a Dinosaur: Extinction Doesn't Have to be Forever, explains to readers how he and his staff are working to construct a dinosaur without the use of dino DNA. He plans to use bird DNA.
Jack as well as many paleontologists believe dinosaurs are not extinct but have evolved into birds. In Wired Magazine, he is quoted as saying, "Dinosaurs are not extinct; they're still with us in this sense. Birds look different, but it's all cosmetic. By tweaking some genes, we can bring out the underlying similarities."
