Springfield Christmas Parade 1952

Bias magazine November 25, 1952, pages 12 and 13 Click for larger image
The annual Christmas parade Saturday was a huge and colorful success as thousands who lined the streets to watch it agreed.  It was photographed from almost every angle by various amateurs and professionals, so BIAS concentrated on the people who watched.  Here, in the southeast quadrant of the public square, is a part of the closely packed crowd of children and grownups with varied expressions of interest, delight and occasionally, boredom.

In front of Heer's store there was this line of juvenile curb-sitters, all of them (except one) more of less absorbed in watching the parade round the corner from College Street into the square.  The exception was the lad at right, who apparently has a take-it-or-leave-it attitude toward parades.
