Post Office
The U.S. Postal Service uses a fleet of 221,000 vehicles to deliver the mail each day. They deliver mail in a number of ways: bicycles, three-wheeled electric cars, electric vehicles, mule trains, subways, helicopters, planes and street cars. Ten thousand letter carriers never get in a vehicle at all.
The U.S. Postal Service also helps communities through drives and partnerships.
- 900 million pounds of food collected through the National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive in May
- 148 missing children returned to their families in partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and Valassis
- $62 million collected for breast cancer research with the Breast Cancer Research Stamp
