The Man Who Saves the Stories
Recently, an article was published concerning a man who is researching all of the families in a small European village. As all genealogists soon discover when researching a small population, he found cousins everywhere and decided to research the entire village.
There are some remarkable things about this man. He began researching 10 years ago and is now 19 years old. His research, including hundreds of photographs, is posted on Facebook, where 148 people are following and contributing to his genealogy.
Let's resolve to follow this young man's lead. Scan those family pictures and documents. Record those family stories so that they will be available to future generations. Sharing will ensure that our ancestral stories will outlast us.
Springfield Greene County Libraries will be offering a program in early March that will allow you to record and share some of your family history.
