Girl Scout Cookies

From Bias magazine February 6, 1952, cover and page 5.

"Girl Scouts and Brownies, their younger counterparts (1,295 of them) are swarming over Springfield, ringing dorbells and selling boxes of cookies.  Among them are the girls on today's cover a group of second and fifth-graders at Rountree school.  The children are (bottom row, left to right) Beverly Howard, Jan Fox, Ann Montebello; (second row) Barbara Williams, Martha Garbee, Janet Donahoo, Linda Bowman; (third row) Marylyn Cooper, Susan Easterly, Mary Lee Dummitt, Judy Darby, Janita Nikkelson; (at top) Fifth Graders Sandra Smith and Barbara Blume.  Money raised will be used for the girls' summer camping program, with special emphasis on acquiring a camp site near Springfield.  Now the girls go to Pin Oak on Lake of the Ozarks.  The girl who sells the most cookies will be crowned Cookie Queen at the Scouts' Folk Festival at SMS March 13.  The sale continues until Feb. 15."
