Criteria for Inclusion in Small Business Sources/Resources

Except as noted below, any organization, agency, or proprietary entity is a candidate for inclusion if it is able and willing to provide information, counseling, or assistance which is specific to the planning or start-up phase of a small business. Also included are organizations and agencies which counsel or assist small businesses in growth or turnaround phases. In all cases, these entities must be pertinent to and accessible by businesses or individuals in Greene County, Missouri; while emphasis will be placed on those entities with a physical presence in Greene County, entities located in Missouri, Eastern Kansas, Northern Arkansas, or Northeastern Oklahoma which are able and willing to serve Greene County businesses or individuals may also be included.

Examples of such organizations, agencies, and proprietary entities would be Small Business Development Centers, venture capital sources, governmental licensing and regulatory agencies, export councils, ethnic trade groups, business incubators, regional planning commissions, chambers of commerce, county extension centers, etc.

Entities which would not qualify for inclusion: proprietary entities providing goods or services to businesses on a general basis and readily accessible through Yellow Pages or other common directory sources; organizations and agencies which do not generally focus on small business. Examples would include advertising agencies, social service agencies, public defenders, juvenile courts, printers, laundry services, manufacturers' agents, delivery services, brokerage services, mailing list vendors, wholesalers, etc.

Any entity which, for whatever reason, does not wish to appear in this database will be excluded or removed.
