What is the State Song of Missouri?

The “Missouri Waltz” is the state song of Missouri, adopted on June 30, 1949. Its words are by J.R. Shannon; its music is from an original melody obtained from John Valentine Eppel, according to the World Book Encyclopedia and the Missouri Secretary of State's Office.

A copy of the sheet music of the “Missouri Waltz” is available in the Local History and Genealogy Department of the Library Center in the information entitled “Missouri Waltz”. In addition, sheet music for the state song (pdf) can be found on the web site of the Missouri State Archives.
