Who are the Knights of Pythias?

The Knights of Pythias are a fraternal organization, similar to the Freemasons, organized in 1864 by Justus Rathbone. .

“In 1908, the State Grand Lodge of Missouri, Knights of Pythias, voted to construct a Pythian Home for Children in Springfield. It resembled a stone castle and many generations of orphans were raised and educated there before it was sold to the U. S.
