When did Missouri adopt Daylight Savings Time?

Daylight Savings Time(DST) started statewide in Missouri in April 1967. Prior to that it was a local option. Springfield adopted DST that same year. The Federal Law that created this is the Uniform Time Act of 1966. For an account of local laws, see: "Time Changes in the USA" by Doris Doane.

An article about Missouri’s adoption of DST can be found in the April 28 1967 Springfield News-Leader on page 1. Information may also be found in the Local History and Genealogy Department’s Information file on calendars.
