Celeberate the final Hunger Games Movie with the Library

The long wait for the last chapter of "The Hunger Games" movie series is almost over and we're ready to celebrate the fourth and final installment. Put your design skills to the test in our tribute couture design contest, help your neighbors in need during our Hunger is Not a Game food drive, and grab your fellow tributes for movie showings and the Final Arena Challenge. "May the odds be ever in your favor!"

Hunger Games Tribute Couture Design Contest

  • For grades 6 - 12
  • Contest starts October 22
  • Deadline for entries: November 9

Do you have what it takes to design the perfect tributes to win the games? Are they all about the weapons? Do they have serious survival skills? Design a pair of tributes in costumes to reflect any or all of our special "Districts". Pick up an entry form at any Library branch and the Mobile Library beginning October 22, or download one (pdf). You may enter as many designs as you wish and any art medium may be used. Winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded at the "Hunger Games" Final Arena Challenge on November 14 at the Library Center.

Hunger is Not a Game October 22 - November 9

Ozarks Food Harvest

Each day, thousands of children and teens in the Ozarks go to bed hungry. Because hunger is not a game, the Library has partnered with Ozarks Food Harvest to let you help our neighbors in need and restock Food Bank shelves just in time for Thanksgiving.

From Thursday, October 22, through Monday, November 9, bring your donation of healthy, non-perishable food (please, no non-nutritional beverages or items in glass containers) to any branch of the Library District.
