Dan Gutman began writing for adults in 1980, but it took 15 years for him to find his true calling: writing fiction for children. Many of his books are sports-related (especially baseball), and his daughter, Emma, inspired his My Weird School series.

The weirdness continues with the My Weirder School series, the latest of which are Miss Kraft is Daft! and Dr. Nicholas is Ridiculous!
