 Joan Hiatt Harlow is the author of several novels for children that focus on the history of the author's native New England area, including the award-winning novels Thunder from the Sea, set in 1912 Newfoundland, and the adventure tale Star in the Storm. Harlow's latest book, Secret of the Night Ponies, which will be published in 2009.
