Englishwoman Liz Kessler always wanted to write. After obtaining degrees in English and creative writing and then teaching in both areas, she began her first series of novels for kids. The Emily Windsnap series is about a seventh-grade girl who discovers she is a mermaid. The Philippa Fisher series is about an 11-year-old girl and her fairy godsister.
