Eoin Colfer (pronounced Owen) is the author of more than 25 books, including the popular Artemis Fowl series. Born in Ireland, Eoin's interest in writing developed in elementary school. After leaving school, he got his degree from Dublin University and qualified as an elementary school teacher. After the first Artemis Fowl book was published in 2001, he resigned from teaching to concentrate on writing full time. He lives in Ireland with his wife and two children.
