Gordon Korman was born in Montreal, Quebec in Canada. He wrote his first book, when he was 12 years old for a coach who suddenly found himself teaching 7th grade English. He now lives on Long Island, outside of New York City, with his wife and three children. He has written approximately 70 books, and is currently working on several more.

Author of several popular series, Gordon's fifth book in the Swindle Series, Hideout is being released in January, 2013.
