In compiling this Directory of Towns, Villages and Hamlets Past and Present, of Hickory County, Missouri, every effort has been made to include every town in the county.

With this in mind, the Historical Society of Hickory County, Mrs. Nannie Jinkins, president, very graciously consented to review this work before its release to the public. Several additions and corrections were noted. They are duly recognized in proper sequence in the directory.

Also, Mr. E. A. Gardner, a native of Hickory County, kindly made available his copy of Wilson's History of Hickory County, which was published in 1907.

The staff in the Reference Department at the Springfield-Greene County Library, very kindly made available, certain reference books. These are marked (R). Other books were referred to, which are on the open shelves at the library.
