A nurse engaged in reconstructive surgery. A Springfield News-Leader article dated December 31, 1999, page M8, used this photo, giving the following description: “A nurse at O’Reilly Hospital tends to a soldier whose chin was destroyed in combat. It was replaced using a pedicle graft -- a piece of new tissue grown on another part of the body and painstakingly moved to the face.” August 11, 1944.
