Their children were DOCTOR MANNY HAMMONDS who married ENDORA STOCKET CARTER, WILLIAM MONTE who married ROSE CARTER, and AMANDA (HAMMONDS) WOODHOUSE who married GEORGE WOODHOUSE. Later they all moved near Galena, MO and are buried at or near Galena. Could MONTGOMERY and RACHEL LUCINDA HAMMONDS be buried in Rome, MO or near there?

WILLIAMS STINE was born in 1844 in Kentucky and died in 1870 at Jasper, Newton County, Arkansas. Mrs. Roop’s father, JESSE AMON STINE, was born in Camden, Missouri.

The Ozark Folk Center, Mt. View, Arkansas, with the Arkansas Humanities Council and National Endowment of the Humanities as cosponsors, plans to hold its Second Annual Ozarks Cultural Celebration on September 19 and 20. Presentations of music, folklore, legend and history will surround the audience during the day and at an evening dinner presentation.

The 39th annual Missouri Conference on History was held April 24-26, 1997, at the Downtown Convention Center, Holiday Inn, St. Louis, sponsored by the University of Missouri-St. Louis and the Missouri Historical Society Lynn Morrow gave an illustrated presentation on ‘The St. Louis Game Park: Experiments in Conservation and Recreation."
