Minutes of Annual Meeting
June 13, 1982

Meeting-Invocation
The Annual Meeting of the White River Valley Historical Society was convened by President Fred Hartman on Sunday, June 13, in The School of the Ozarks College Center Cafeteria at 1:20 p.m. The invocation was given by Artie Ayres.

Attendance
Forty-three members and guests introduced themselves. Mildred Weaver was in charge of the attendance register.

Minutes
Minutes of the March 14 meeting were approved as corrected.

Treasurer's Report
Treasurer’s report stated a bank balance of $3,037.08 (1 Bill outstanding).

Correspondence
Correspondence included: A Genealogical Studies at Oklahoma State University to be held on July 29-31; Family Tree Research Tour to England on Aug. 30 to Sept. 12; and the Missouri State Genealogical Association Conference to be held in Columbia on August 13 - 14.

Alf Bolin Days
A resume of the Society’s participation in Alt Bolin Days activities in Forsyth on May 15 was given by the President.

Annual Reports
Annual reports of Officers were read.

Election
The following Officers for 1982-83 were elected: President, Fred Hartman; Vice president, James E. Powell; and Historian, Kathleen VanBuskirk.

County Directors elected for 1982-85 were: Douglas County, Icy Curry of Ava and Greene County, R. G. Weaver of Republic.

Program
Lynn Morrow, WRVHS member and an associate of the SMSU Center for Ozark Studies, showed the Documentary film "Shannon County Home." Paul Johns, program chairman, introduced the speaker.

Installation
Installation of Officers was conducted by Lucille A. Brown and President Hartman announced the appointments of the following chairmen: Library, Lucille A. Brown; Museum, Glenn H. Johnston; Publicity, Edith McCall; Historic Sites, Artie Ayres; and, Nominating, Esther Beveridge.

Announcements
Pictures of the Swan Creek Bridge and books would be for sale following the meeting. Next meeting is scheduled for September 12.

Meeting adjourned 3:50 p.m.
