President's Message

Greetings to all members and friends of the White River Valley Historical Society. As a long time member and now as an officer in the society, I am justifiably proud of our achievements. Although we are dedicated to preserving the past, we must also look to the future and an important part of that future is keeping up the membership. Of course, we will lose some members due to health, personal reasons, etc. That means we will have to be finding new members and for this we will need the help and co-operation of everyone.

As you know, the society has been well represented at several workshops and other social events and as a result of these events the new membership enrollment has been very gratifying. This indicates to me that perhaps we need to let more people know about the White River Valley Historical Society.

So, if you have a friend, neighbor or relative that does not belong to our society, let them know what we have to offer. They just might like to join up. Let’s give it a try so we can look forward to a growing membership and continued well attended meetings.

See you in March.

Fred Hartman
