MINUTES OF DECEMBER 13, 1987, MEETING

Meeting Date Place Time
The regular meeting of the White River Valley Historical Society met on December13, 1987, at 1:00 p.m. in the Friendship House on The School of the Ozarks Campus, Point Lookout, Mo., with President Robert Gilmore presiding.

Invocation
Invocation was given by Jerry Gideon.

Attendance
Thirty members and sixteen guests signed the attendance register.

Minutes
Minutes of the September 13 meeting were approved as printed.

Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer’s report stated a bank balance of $1,801.19

Board Report
Board of Directors reported having met on October 11 and recommended:

Dues Raise
That dues be raised to $10.00 per year beginning July 1, 1988. Recommendation adopted.

Hsitoric Sites
Historic Sites Also, announced that Pauline Barton and Townsend Godsey were appointed to serve on Comm. named Historic Sites Committee with James Horst, chairman.

Quarterly copy
Action taken by Board: that the copy for the quarterly magazine be submitted (as much and no. pages as possible) camera ready and each issue contain twenty (20) pages.

Historic
Taney County Historic Committee Chairman Jerry Gideon gave an oral report on the Comm. sesquicentennial celebration and asked for memorabilia for the 50 year time capsule.

Steamboat Landing comm.
Bill Cameron thanked members of the Steamboat Landing Committee for their work and declared the group abandoned. Written report placed on file.

Program
Jerry Gideon, program chairman, introduced Art Galbraith and Gordon McCann who presented a program of traditional fiddle music from the Ozark Mountains. Art played the fiddle and Gordon accompanied on the guitar. Requests were honored following the stated selections.

Next meeting announced for March 13.
