MINUTES OF MARCH 13, 1988, MEETING

Meeting Date Place time
The third quarterly meeting of the 1987-88 year of the White River Valley Historical Society was convened in the Banquet Room of the Friendship House at The School of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, Missouri at 1:10 P.M. on March 13 by President Gilmore.

Invocation
The invocation was prayers prayed silently by the thirty-one members in attendance.
Attendance
Individual introductions followed.

In Memory
Remarks in memory of two recently deceased members, Lucille A. Brown and W. D. Cameron, were made by the President. Memorials are being received by the Society at the request of Lucille’s family.

Minutes
Minutes of December 14 meeting were approved as published.

Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer reported a bank balance of $1,503.19 with one outstanding bill.

OzarksWatch
President Gilmore told of the publication, OzarksWatch, that is available free of charge to those interested. He is a co-director. He then read an Elizabeth Mahnkey poem.

Editor’s Need
Material for publication in our Quarterly was requested.

Committee on Nominations
A first reading of the Committee on Nominations was given by Fred Hartman, Chairman.

Newspaper Articles
The Secretary ask if the notices that are sent to area newspapers are being publish.
Articles Response was positive.

Program Gift of Research book
Program Chairman, Jerry Gideon, presented a report on the study produced by the Corps of Engineers: "Archaeological and Historical Investigations: Old Forsyth Site." This report was compiled by Bob Dunn and a copy was given to the Society which will in turn Research Book be placed in Lyons Memorial Library. Thank you note to be sent to Mr. Dunn.

Courtesy
A get-well card is to be sent to Elmo Ingenthron.

Announcement
Next meeting is scheduled for June 12.
