Blunt Expands Access to State Archives


Roy Blunt, Missouri’s Secretary of State and the state's Chief Archivist, has announced that beginning May 4, 1985, the State Archives, 1001 Industrial Drive, Jefferson City, will be open on Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Visitors will be able to utilize the center's complete microfilm library as well as the library of research books.

Blunt also said his office has been working with a number of local historians to increase the outreach of the Archives. He expects to establish in the near future a volunteer support group and to begin to provide traveling exhibits of historical documents and facsimiles on a limited basis.
