The third annual workshop of the Ozarks Genealogical Society will be held at the Sheraton Inn, 3333 5. Glenstone, Springfield, on October 22, Jo White Linn, nationwide lecturer and past editor of North Carolina Genealogical Journal, is featured speaker. Write Darlene Keith, workshop registrar, P.O. Box 3694 G.S., Springfield. Mo. 65808 for registration blank. Fee $15.00. We had 16 members in attendance last year and each one found the sessions interesting and worthwhile. Try to attend.

Mrs. Archie Kissee of Los Molinas, CA tells us that both she and her husband were born in Missouri. Her father worked for the Game Park at Mincy in the early 30’s for $1.00 per day. She attended South Bee Creek School and Douglas Mahnkey was her first grade teacher. Editor’s note: Send us some stories, Mrs. Kissee, on your early memories of your years in this area.

A query from Mrs. D. L. Quaife, 505 5. Duke, Springfield, Mo. 65802. "We are compiling a genealogy of the Youngblood family and would like to hear from any descendants.

Would especially like to contact descendants of Edmund Green and Patience Tabor Hampton, who are buried in the Rhoades Cemetery. Patience was a daughter of John and Susannah (Youngblood) Tabor, thought to have lived in the Protem area.

Would, also, like to hear from any descendants of Allen Frank and Deborah Ellen (Youngblood) Wade, who and buried in Edwards Cemetery. Their children, listed on the 1960 census of Taney County were: Dock (b 1890); Charley Bass (b. 1892); Wesley (b. 1896); and Rosie (b. 1900).

Sympathy is extended to member Ruth Ryser of Klamath Falls, OR, in the recent loss of her husband.

New member Josephine L. Marsh, P.O. Box 1013, Ridgecrest, CA 93555 needs information on Ethan B. Wright, born 2 November 1820-21, Brown County, OH. Died 17 October 1888-89 in Branson, MO. In 1861 he married Elmira Luellen Lowry. They lived in Branson, MO 1880-89. Children were: Thomas P. (1886): John G. (1868) Indiana (1870); Ethan B. (1872); and James H.

(1874). Any help will be appreciated.

After a lengthy confinement in Bethany Medical Center in Kansas City, KS, past president Lucille A. Brown is recuperating from serious spine problems at the home of daughter, Katie. She hopes to return to her home near Hermitage as soon as she is allowed to drive. We pray for her complete recovery.

Helen Fletcher, a past president, is now home following time in Skaggs Community Hospital in Branson and Fremont Center in Springfield due to broken bones suffered from a fall in her home. Keep improving, Helen.

If you wish a reply from correspondence when requesting information, from the Society or others, be sure to include return postage. Non-profit groups and individuals have no funds for extensive correspondence.

BLUE EYE REUNIONS ON SAT. SEPT. 3! Anna Avery of Springfield, wants to remind you of this all day affair. A Blue Eye History Booklet is being prepared and she promises to send a copy with permission to use any material in the quarterly. A few membership blanks have been forwarded to her at her request. Hope she can get some new members. Good luck, Anna, we need them!

Donna Ricchiuti of Sherman Oaks, CA writes that she appreciated the article in Vol. 8 No. 3 written by Christa Chaney Barton. "Her footnotes indicate the tremendous amount of work and time involved in obtaining her information."
