MINUTES OF MEETINGJUNE 8, 1986
Meeting: Date Time Place
The 25th Annual Meeting of the White River Valley Historical Society was called to order by Time President Penelope Willard on June 8 at 1:35 p.m. in the banquet room at The School of the Ozarks Friendship House.
The late start was due to the lack of a quorum. James Hort gave the invocation. Twenty
members and two guests were in attendance.
Minutes of the March 9,1986 meeting were approved.
Treasurers report stated a bank balance of $1,050.48.
A letter from Dr. Todd, Administrative Vice-President of S of 0, stated that we must have at least 25 paid dinners to use the banquet room free of charge or pay a fee of $25.00.
Annual written reports were read by Historic Chairman Horst and Mrs. Willard reading for Historian Pearl Hodges.
A second reading of the Nominating Committee report by Fred Hartman preceded the election of the 1986-87 officers. The following were elected: President, Robert K. Gilmore of Ozark; Vice-President, Jerry Gideon of Forsyth; Historian, Ruth Asher of Galena; Barry County Director, Mildred Roden of Cassville; Stone County Director, Lydia Mourning Clark of Aurora; and Christian County Director, Cuma Horst of Ozark.
Mr. Horst moved that Lucille A. Brown be made an Honorary Life Member. Motion seconded and carried.
Seven members participated in a program of "Show & Tell" with Chairman Gilmore moderating.
An invitation was extended to all to attend the Civil War Re-enactment and Steamboat Landing Dedication at Forsyth on June 14 and 15
Mr. Hartman conducted the installation of Mr. Gilmore and Mr. Gideon and Mr. Gilmore accepted the gavel.
Next meeting announced for September 14.
