Thurman L. BASKIN, 201A Misty Isle, Las Vegas, NV 89107 needs an answer to a puzzle that bothers him concerning townships in Taney County. In the 1850 census J. Gimlin is listed as living in Benton Township, but cannot find this township on the map. He finds Swan Township where Gimlin lived. Was Benton Township in existence before 1850? Was it joined with Swan after 1850? Or did the enumerator mean to write that Benton was the post office for those families?
