No queries were received this past quarter. Since this page is reserved for genealogical help, we are including the following summary of some helpful research resources.

 The staff of the Genealogy and Local History Department of the North Independence Branch Library will conduct limited research by phone or mail. This department has become a nationally known resource which draws researchers from all over the country. They have a County Index for Missouri, a county by county listing of published records; also, a list of local researchers.

The Illinois State Genealogical Society can help you search for some answers with your family. With a membership you will receive 4 issues of their ISGS Quarterly, 10 issues of a Newsletter letting you know what is going on in the state and surrounding areas in genealogy, and help you learn more about genealogical research methods and sources available.

The East Tennessee Historical Society has books on Tennessee History for sale. Some titles are: Tennessee Towns; Knoxviile’s History; The Terror of Tellico Plains; and, Divided Loyalties: Fort Sanders and the Civil War in East Tennessee.

The "Ye Olde Genealogie Shoppe" says ‘Bring your Genealogy Problems to the Prof essionals.’ Their research library has thousands of books and over 4,000 reels of microfilm. They have records of Indiana, Kentucky, illinois, some Ohio listings and Military; plus forms, charts and maps. Their microfilm reader-printer enables them to provide photocopies of some census records, military records and hundreds of out of print books.

The Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc. has many basic books in genealogy; geneaI~ogies of families in Connecticut, Kentucky, Long Island, Mayflower, New England, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia plus many general reference and finding aids also a directory of Scottish Settlers, Italian Surnames, Irish Immigrants, German Immigrants, and much more.

The State Library of Pennsylvania fills out-of-state resident requests on a minimum basis and will supply a list of Researchers of the area. Requests must be specific and concise. They have a Surname Card Index and will photocopy.
