SEEING A BUNCH OF DEER AT PLAY
By S. C. Turnbo

In speaking of groups of deer seen in the hills of Baxter County, Ark., Mr. John Garrison said that he saw a bunch of deer on Pigeon Creek one day that interested him no little. The entire bunch was on a hillside that was almost bare of timber. Part of the deer were feeding. Others were jumping and playing. I had my gun with me but the deer looked so pretty I did not shoot at them. I stood perfectly still but somehow they took a scare and all left on a run. I did not try to obtain the correct number of them, but I think there were 50 of them at least."
